Sad news for the class of '67

SKINNER, Carol (Kozikowski) Carol (Kozikowski) Skinner, 59, of Kensington, passed away Wednesday (September 10, 2008) at Hospital of Central CT in New Britain, surrounded by her family. A New Britain native, daughter of the late Bernard and Anne (Filipek) Kozikowski, she moved to Berlin in 1968. A graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in New Britain, Class of 1967, she attended Central CT State University. Carol was a Unit Secretary at New Britain General Hospital for 20 years and later worked at Klingberg Family Centers for eight years. Carol was a member of St. Paul's Church in Kensington; the Kensington Garden Club; the Holy Cross Drum Corps; and was a member and past president of the Kensington Mothers Club. Carol will be remembered for here cake decorating, her creativity, her love of music and her involvement in the community. Surviving is her son, Timothy Skinner of Kensington; two daughters, Lori (Skinner) Delude and her husband James of Meriden, and Cindy (Skinner) Girouard and her husband Paul of Newington; her grandchildren, Lauren and Jenna Girouard; a sister, Joanne Kozikowski in California; her step mother of 30 years, Stephanie Kozikowski of New Britain; and her aunt, Hedwig Karnecki also of New Britain, both of whom provided care for Carol in the final years of her life. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, Alling St., Kensington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
