Class of '69
MaryJane Depot MD, of South Salem, NY, wife of Peter J. Mercurio MD, died on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Dr. Depot was born December 23, 1950 in New Britain, CT, a daughter of the late John Brennan Depot and Elizabeth Russell Depot. She attended New Britain schools, Tufts University, and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. After medical school, Dr. Depot trained at NYU-Bellevue and Einstein-Montefiore, and later maintained her practice of Ophthalmology in Yorktown, NY. She was a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Depot was a resident of South Salem for the past thirty years. She was a member of the Rusticus Garden Club, an official judge for numerous flower shows in the region, and a prize-winning participant in many shows. As she was dedicated to her practice of medicine, she was equally dedicated to her family. Among her favorite pastimes was spending time on the Connecticut shore as well as on the island of Maui. In addition to her husband of thirty one years, she leaves three daughters, Elizabeth, Laura, and Eileen; a brother, John Brennan Depot Jr.; a sister, Yvonne Williams (class of 61), and her husband, Robert, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Dr. Depot was predeceased by a brother, Lionel (Lee) Depot. The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield, CT on Sunday (today) from 2 PM to 6 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Northern Westchester Hospital Cancer Center, 400 East Main St., Mt. Kisco, NY 10549 would be appreciated.
