Sorry to report the loss of a Classmate
 
Dana (DiLoreto) Zadrozny, 60, of New Britain, beloved wife of Robert H. Zadrozny, passed away Friday February 14, 2014. She was born February 27, 1953 in Hartford the daughter of the late Salvatore "Sam" and Rose (Camilleri) DiLoreto. Dana was a 1971 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School and had attended both CCSU and Tunxis Community College. During college, Dana began her banking career at the New Britain Federal Savings Bank where she eventually was promoted to the officers position as bank secretary. She remained there until 1983 when she became a full time stay at home mom. In 1993 she became the secretary to the principal of St. Thomas Aquinas High School and worked there until the schools' closing in 1999. Dana joined Connecticare, Inc at that time and remained employed there until this past August. Dana enjoyed cooking, sewing, and shopping for bargains with her children. However, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends. She was the ultimate wife and mother, always providing love and support to her husband, children and friends. Including Robert, her husband of 38 years, Dana is survived by her two children Brendan and Carly Zadrozny both of New Britain; her mother-in-law Florence (Budnick) Zadrozny of New Britain; a sister-in-law Diane (Zadrozny) Hammond of Vienna, VA; a brother-in-law David Zadrozny and his wife Mila (Ruiu) Zadrozny of Coventry; and a niece and three nephews; Scott Hammond of Vienna, VA and Evan and Natalia Zadrozny and Amadeo Ruiu all of Coventry. Her faithful therapy dog, Jack, provided many days of unconditional love, comfort and laughter since he became a family member shortly before her diagnosis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday February 19th at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1755 Stanley Street, New Britain. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Donations in Dana's memory may be made to the Zadrozny Family Scholarship Fund, C/O St. Paul Catholic High School, 1001 Stafford Avenue, Bristol, CT 06010 or the National Collegiate Cancer Foundation, C/O Meghan Rodgers, 4858 Battery Lane #216 Bethesda, MD 20814. The family would like to express their sincerest of thanks to all of their family and friends for the kind expressions of love and su pport for Dana in her journey. A special loving thank you is in order for all of her friends and co-workers at Connecticare, along with the staff, nurses and Doctors of the Thoracic Oncology Unit and the twelfth floor medical oncology team at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale. Dana's family asks that those who have a photo that they would like to add to a family memory board to please bring the photo to calling hours.
